The death of a loved one can fill us with sorrow and pain. Celebrating a funeral Mass (Mass of Christian Burial) is an extraordinary way to commend our loved ones to God and to help us mourn our loss.

The Catholic funeral rite is divided into several stations, or parts, each with its own purpose. These stations include the wake/vigil service, the funeral liturgy, and the rite of committal (burial/interment).
